Beginner Courses |
AT BTS we have been running beginner courses since our inception in 2007. We have seen over 150 people graduate from our courses and complete their first triathlon. And it doesn't end there. Many of our beginner course participants continue on with triathlons and join our main squad. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere at BTS is in part due to the mix of athletes with many coming from our beginner courses. So have a look at the beginner courses on offer below and have a read of our testimonials. Remember that everyone was a beginner once and our past beginners have shown that you can move on to Noosa Triathlon, Half Ironman, Ironman and even Age Group Wold Championships! |

Past beginner courses have catered for a variety of ages, backgrounds and abilities. It is not neccessary to own a road bike to participate in the beginner course. The cost of the course is $350 and is limited to 30 participants. To join the course please fill out the Beginner Registration form. Course Schedule - 8th March
The BTS beginner swim course is for those that need some extra attention in the water. For those that have not grown up in the water swimming can be the hardest part of triathlon to feel like you are making improvements at. This course will not have you suddenly leading the pack out of the swim but it will help you address your problem areas and help you feel more confident in the water. The course beginning in April will incorporate ocean swimming and will finish with the 1km Noosa Blue Water Swim on the 22nd May. The cost of the course is $250 plus pool entry and is restricted to between 5 and 15 participants. Please refer to BTS' Terms and Conditions Beginner RegistrationHere's what past course participants have to say: "Prior to joining BTS I had always wanted to complete an Olympic Distance Triathlon. I must admit however that I was daunted by the thought of training with a squad where everyone was likely to be much faster/ more competent than me. The beginners course that is offered by BTS is a great introduction to squad training in a friendly and encouraging environment and gave me the confidence to join the main squad and go on to train and complete Noosa Triathlon this year. I have really enjoyed training and the new friends I have made through BTS over the past 12 months". “I joined the beginner’s squad as a new challenge and change from the repetitive – mainly gym focused – exercise program I’ve had for the last few years. Since joining three months ago, I can honestly say that I am the fittest I have ever been, and am enjoying every training session, especially being outdoors. The group environment has really encouraged me to keep trying and it’s true, I only got better, and am still getting better. I can now say I’ve done a triathlon, with many more to come!” "The BTS beginners squad was a great way for me to ease into the flow of training for all three triathlon disciplines. With skilled and friendly coaches, emphasis was placed on technique and the sessions catered for all levels of strength. Was also a fantastic way to meet an awesome bunch of like minded people. The transition into the main squad was easy and I continue to enjoy every session and feel great physically and mentally because of it". "I joined BTS beginner squad in September to gain an understanding of the 3 disciplines involved in the sport, I had never ridden a road bike before in my life, I had never swum "laps" in a pool and I think the furthest I had ever run was 5km on a treadmill at the gym.
