If I can do this course for beginners – anyone can! I had swum in the past, only ever ridden a bike because I couldn’t afford petrol and couldn’t run if there was a bear chasing me. The BTS coaches have been nothing but encouraging, understanding, extremely patient and they only laugh at you when you aren’t looking. All the squad are very encouraging, even when you come last, and there are lots of laughs to be had. I’ve made new friends, and even a new best friend.

The course was great! For those looking for a casual way to get into triathlon to see if it is for you or not, I would strongly recommend the Brisbane Tri Squad. The Beginners Course provided me with the opportunity to join a squad, learn the basics and to improve my fitness. I have developed friendships with a great group of people, got into a training routine and am really enjoying the sport. Thanks guys for your professionalism, support and encouragement.

I discovered BTS by accident, although might just have been fate!! After deciding I needed to set a goal for my fitness, I decided a triathlon would be a good thing to do. Enter Brisbane Triathlon Squad Beginners Program. The squad has given me the vehicle and framework that I know I need to plan my training sessions. Mark, Robson, Garry and Chris provide that extra prod when I think I am running out of steam. I did my first tri last weekend and finished under the time I had set as a goal.
I’ve just signed up for 12 months and am putting dates in my diary for the races over summer. I am planning on finishing strongly in the Mooloolaba triathlon in early 2008.
Regular training has made me so much more productive at work (and very hungry!) and overall so much happier and content in myself. I am full of energy. The added bonus (and great surprise) is the crowd of people that are part of the squad. My training partner is a superb chick (and new best friend) who has four kids; she did not miss a training session!!
My Dad told me yesterday that he has never seen me looking so healthy and beautiful. Now that makes every training session worth it!!!!
